| MOVE | YOUR | MIND |
A new chapter in whole-self fitness, Traverse enables individuals to address psychological issues and obstacles while engaging in outdoor physical exercise, all with the guidance of a practitioner experienced in both modalities.
Conceived by Dylan Berkey, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Personal Trainer, Traverse is truly the missing link in mind-body-spirit balance. Dylan understands that mind, body, and spirit are interconnected and interdependent, and therefore need to harmonize. Over the years, she has seen how even slight impairment in any of these areas can prevent individuals from realizing their true potential. Dylan has become an expert with regard to identifying her clients’ trouble areas and putting them on a path toward change, literally.
Each treatment plan is individualized based on the client’s level of fitness (mind-body-spirit) and personal health and wellness goals. Sessions are conducted in safe outdoor spaces, including hiking/running trails and beaches throughout Los Angeles.
Dylan has been providing psychotherapy to an array of individuals, couples, families, and groups since early 2000. A lifetime fitness enthusiast and former professional dancer, Dylan has studied and pursued exercise and nutrition extensively, including hiking, running, cycling, plyometrics, yoga, Pilates, resistance training, and functional exercise, as well as various approaches to sustainable clean eating.
Dylan’s experience and education have empowered her with the tools necessary to teach others to become more grounded emotionally and more connected with the environment through integrating psychotherapy and outdoor physical exercise. This unique therapeutic combination is an advanced and invaluable tool for addressing body image issues, addictions, depression, anxiety, as well as many other obstacles in people’s experience of wholeness. Dylan has a deep understanding of the ongoing process of recovery. She has experienced the positive effects on the mind-body-spirit connection of stepping outside the daily urban grind and into nature. Traverse extends her therapeutic expertise, physical training, and values to fellow city-dwellers seeking integration, efficiency, and change.
