Dylan is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFC 44317) and a Certified Personal Trainer. She earned an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from New College of California. She earned trainer certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Dylan has extensive experience working with adults and adolescents suffering from a wide range of psycho-emotional and addiction issues. She is adept at utilizing various treatment modalities and approaches, in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Dylan has successfully treated individuals, couples, families, and groups, in both inpatient and outpatient settings, as well as in both community based and private venues, since 2000. Though her clinical psychology training is grounded in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, she has in-depth training and experience in Motivational Enhancement Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as well as both 12 Step and Harm Reduction treatment philosophies. She has developed and facilitated Chemical Dependency and Dual Diagnosis outpatient therapy programs and has a particular interest in the links between trauma and substance abuse. Dylan’s approach is Eclectic, in that she enters into each therapeutic alliance with the goal of facilitating the growth process in the manner best suited to the individual(s) involved. Dylan’s areas of specialization include addiction and recovery, eating disorders, trauma, relationship issues, and transitioning from adolescence to adulthood. She is also well-versed and passionate about working in LGBT communities. Dylan has experienced the positive effects on the mind-body-spirit connection of stepping outside the daily urban grind and into nature and values sharing this experience with other city-dwellers.
